Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 September 2026

This page explains what information we collect when you visit ulusalila.com or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it plainly. If anything is unclear, email us at info@ulusalila.com and we will answer.

Who we are

Ulu Salila is a private villa estate on Suluban Cliff, Pecatu, Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia. When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", it means the owners and management of Ulu Salila. You can reach us at info@ulusalila.com or on +62 812 2712 5542.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry. Our enquiry forms ask for your name, your email address, your preferred dates, how many guests you are, and a message. We use this to answer you. Nothing more. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent your details to anyone.

When you visit the site. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use ulusalila.com — which pages are read, roughly where visitors are from, what device they use, and whether they arrived from a search engine, a social link, or an advertisement. This is aggregated and does not tell us who you are. We use Google Ads to run a small number of search advertisements, and Google Analytics tells Google Ads when an advertisement led to an enquiry, so that we can see whether the advertising is worth running.

When you make a booking. Direct bookings are handled by Little Hotelier, a booking system operated by SiteMinder. When you move from our website to the booking page, you are on their system and their privacy policy applies to the payment and reservation details you enter there. We receive the booking confirmation so that we can prepare for your stay.

When you message us on WhatsApp. That conversation is held on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's privacy policy. We keep it so that we have a record of what was agreed for your stay.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them for one thing: Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement, as described above. They let Google recognise a returning browser and attribute an enquiry to an advertisement.

When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for these cookies to be set. If you decline, the site works exactly the same — Google Analytics simply records a visit with no cookie and no identifier. You can change your answer at any time from the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page.

We do not use cookies for advertising to you on other websites, and we do not use social media tracking pixels.

Who else sees your information

Only the services we need to run the website and answer you:

• Resend delivers our email. When you submit an enquiry, it passes your message to our inbox and sends you a confirmation. It does not keep a copy beyond what is needed to deliver the email.
• Google provides Analytics and Ads, as described above.
• Vercel hosts the website and, like any web host, logs the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) for security and to keep the site running.
• Little Hotelier (SiteMinder) handles direct bookings.

These companies operate servers in several countries, including the United States. By using the site you accept that your information may be processed there.

Beyond that, we share your details with nobody — unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails stay in our inbox so that we can refer back to what was discussed, generally for as long as you remain a guest or a prospective guest. Google Analytics data is kept for fourteen months and then deleted automatically. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, tell us and we will remove it.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct it if it is wrong;
• delete it;
• stop using it for a particular purpose.

Email info@ulusalila.com and we will deal with it. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Australia, these rights are set out in the data protection law of your country, and you are also entitled to complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in Indonesia, the same rights apply under the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP 2022).

Children

The website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. Bookings are made by adults.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not reduce your rights without telling you.
